CRAZY SCORELINES

Hello Everyone,
I write this blog sat at home with the doorbell ringing every 10 minutes. I have a jar of sweets which is emptying faster that I thought it would.
The first set of kids who turned up at my door early in the evening left crying because my Halloween mask was too scary for them.
I scared them by hiding behind the main gates and pounced on them when they started taking the sweets my cousin was handing out.
After scaring them off, I thought word would get round and put the other kids off but the doorbell hasn’t stopped ringing and apparently word on the street is that the sweets are really nice at my residence.
I still don’t really know what all this Halloween business is about but it gives me a chance to be a kid once again and play pranks wearing a mask which is all fun. I hope my neighbours don’t complain in the morning. It’s been fun and the kids and their parents in my area have been brilliant. Same again next year!
You are probably wondering why I am talking about Halloween when the headline is ‘Crazy Scorelines’.
I really wanted to blog about some of the scorelines we have witnessed in the Barclays Premier League this season, however being Halloween night I felt it appropriate to start with my scary mask and Halloween antics.
Anyway, back to the scorelines in the Premier League, it has been surprising to say the least, especially after what we witnessed at the Bridge on Saturday against Arsenal but that is only part of the story.
It started when Manchester City beat Tottenham away from home 5-1. Then Arsenal turned up at Old Trafford and were beaten 8 – 2 the same day. At that stage most commentators said they were freak results.
It didn’t stop there though because Manchester City then beat Man Utd 6-1 at Old Trafford and it was talked about all week until we lost 5 -3 at home to Arsenal.
I have been in the Premier League over six years and I can’t remember seeing such heavy defeats suffered by the top clubs in the league. It is unheard of to have one of these clubs suffer such a big defeat throughout the season, let alone all of us suffering these defeats within the first 10 games.
If you are a spectator or a neutral supporter not connected to any of the top clubs you will definitely have loved all the games and will be wishing for more but for those of us connected to these heavy defeats it’s not a very pleasant experience.
Every player crosses the white line and always wants to give his all so to come away with such a big loss is always hard to take. You almost want to play another game as soon as possible to get it out of your system and I can assure all Chelsea fans that we will be back to winning ways in the league soon.
I have seen and heard many commentators try to explain why there have been so many crazy scorelines this season. Depending on who you listen to, it’s either down to this tactic or that formation and so on and so forth.
I have always wondered what fans think about some of these scorelines. I will be interested to hear what you the fans think about the 5 – 1; 8 – 2; 6 – 1; and 5 – 3 scorelines, so for once you can be a pundit or coach and tell me why you think there have been all these crazy results in the Barclays Premier League this season.
You can leave your reasons below and we will publish some of them next month.
Until then…
Ess
